Issue Position

New legislation has unfairly and negatively impacted women, the elderly, and the underprivileged.

I promise to protect Home and Community Care Block Grant funding to preserve home-delivered services for low-income, elderly persons so that they can remain in their homes.

I will work to amend recent legislation that does not exempt rape and incest victims, or women whose lives are in danger from carrying a child, from a twenty-four hour waiting period before an abortion can be performed. Abortions should never be used as a form of contraceptive, but neither should abortions be delayed when mothers' lives are at risk.
